Nampost is recruiting a Head: Business Support Unit (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Develop, refine, and effectively deploy and manage a business support capacity for the total spectrum of NamPost business, banking and functional business requirements, embedded in strategic and sustainability considerations and plans, and aligned with the business enabling function to guide the effective translation of business needs into functional systems solutions
Duties
- Business Support Unit (BSU) Strategic & Business Plan (incl. Budget & Cost Management)
- BSU Operating & Service Frameworks, Policies & Procedures (incl. BSU. Governance, Risk & Security alignment & integration)
Business Support Services Effectiveness (NamPost group-wide context, incl. Business and Support Units)
“IT Functional Use Migration to Business” Effectiveness (Optimization of IT functions use by business users)
- Needs Analysis Effectiveness in Guiding Enabling Solutions
- Change Management Effectiveness
- BSU Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Management Effectiveness (BSU alignment within Technology)
- Project Management Effectiveness (participation and leading change and development
projects empowering business in use of IT)
- BSU Human Resources Effectiveness
- BSU Stakeholder Relationships & Support Related Communications Effectiveness
Requisites
- Educational Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- A four (4) year Degree (BSc or BTech) in Computer Science or Information Technology. Eight (8) years’ industry experience of which five (5) years must be at management level. Five (5) years banking, logistics and or postal experience in a technical/ICT role
- Functional design and utilization of business systems with an emphasis on NamPost business scope
- An understanding of business processes and how they translate into technology tools, rules and structures
- Experience of latest user/customer serving technologies
- Experience in the banking or financial services environment
- Clearing, waste clearing and settlement experience within the financial services industry and Namibian Payment System
- Understanding of technology risk management principles and frameworks with an emphasis of the user interfaces

- Knowledge of financial postings on technical platforms is a must with at least 5 (five) years’
experience in
- GL posting on financial systems such as WRE, SAP, other financial and business systems
including Settlement & Clearing but not limited to those
- Strong knowledge of business requirement & functional requirement documentation
- Translation of business requirements into functional requirements
