BDO is recruiting a Level 1 NIPA Accounting Trainee (m/f), to be based in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Description
- Reporting to the BSO Portfolio Manager, the Accounting Trainee is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting related activities assigned to him/her by the BSO Manager. In particular, the Level 1 NIPA Trainee is responsible to:
- Interpret, understand and execute the detailed instructions/accounting programme/assignment to meet the Client's expectations on each assignment
- Understand the departmental budget and objective of the department
- Understand the Firms Risk and Quality procedures, ensuring adherence of these
- Contribute to the culture of Quality, Ethical and Professional Behaviour of the Firm in a positive manner
Duties
- There will be an expectation that you will take full responsibility for project delivery on your assignments
- To ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keep Senior/s and/or Manager informed of overruns
- Ensure timeous completion of assignment and keeping to given deadlines
- Delivery of high standard, technically correct products (Reports, AFS, Management Accounts, etc.) to the clients
- Ensure that the Firm’s Quality Control procedures are adhered to as applicable to your assignments
Requisites
- Grade 12 Certificate and registered for a B.Compt (or equivalent) degree at an accredited institute
- High workable knowledge of MS Office
- Workable knowledge of Pastel Partner Accounting and Xero
- Dedicated and ambitious personality, with a passion to deliver the highest quality service to our clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work well independently or in a team
- Ability to work under pressure
