O&L NeXentury Development and Construction Service is recruiting a Project Manager (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Project Manager will work together with a dynamic and international IPP development team and will play a key technical role throughout Southern Africa and along the entire project life cycle, with an emphasis on planning and engineering the PV offering and managing the construction execution and commissioning of the integrated system. Working together with the German Office to define commercial targets, scope detailed engineering specs and to establish the overall technical and strategic purpose of each project, the Project Manager will form the Southern African arm of the group’s technical department and will be responsible to coordinate, implement and execute our renewable energy projects
Duties
- Responsible for the implementation timelines, managing expectations and contractual obligations among third-party contractors during the EPC implementation phase
- Managing the approval, planning, and permitting process during the pre-construction/pre-financial close project development phase
- Discussing and negotiating technical and commercial aspects of EPC/PPA agreements with potential clients and off takers
- Take the lead in planning, pricing and forecasting performance of each new project opportunity and working closely with the German engineering department to verify the applicant’s proposed project dessings
- Will engage seamlessly between desk and from within the field leading colleagues, external advisors, supplies and contractors, as the project IPP nears its financial closed status
- Once an IPP has reached financial close, responsible for the transition to O&L EPC activities and prepare for construction begin, finalize detailed plans with internal and external engineers
- Responsible for the plant, equipment and services procurement process, establish relationships with suppliers, launch tender processes and archive best possible supply rates
- Be the interface between sub-contractors and oversee construction implementation process

- Deliver on-time and on-budget the implementation of the plant construction
- Coordinate of the project handover to commercial operation and to train of the O&M contractors
- Beyond project specific activities, provide key technical analysis during project development phase and desk studies to validate the feasibility of both internal and third-party projects
Requisites
- Technical university degree
- Must have at least four years of detailed PV planning, in-field management, and project execution experience with large scale Solar PV Projects (>1 MW)
- Must be qualified and have verifiable professional experience in project management in the commercial and industrial photovoltaic sector
- Experience in the Project Management of large- scale PV projects would be an advantage
- Code 08 valid drivers licence
