Coca Cola Beverages Africa is recruiting a Procurement Category Specialist (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Coca-Cola Beverages Africa requires the services of a Procurement Category Specialist, reporting to the Procurement Manager. The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for the Manufacturing portfolio and for sourcing new suppliers using CCNBC’s ERP/SAP system and other relevant online sourcing plat-forms. Ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries and resolving customer queries
Duties
- Convert all PR’s to PO’s within reasonable and agreed cycle times
- Weekly expediting to ensure that PO’s are delivered on time
- Keeping noncompliance register up to date as issues arise and notify Procurement Manager
- Managing of vendor/Supplier database effectively by reducing non-active vendors periodically
- Keeping the contract register current and updated
- Conduct quarterly supplier performance evaluations and communicate results with suppliers and management
- Tracking production volumes and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends
- Ensuring materials meet specifications
- Monitoring inventory levels against target levels
- Work closely with Manufacturing team to ensure correct specifications are met
- Responsible for price updates on the ERP/SAP system
- Purchasing duties to support plant production and maintenance departments
- Trace and monitor purchase orders and invoices and effectively communicate with the engineering, maintenance and production personnel of item availability and order status
- Manage vendor applications
- Determine most cost-effective and efficient methods for ordering
Requisites
- Qualification in Supply Chain Management or Business management
- Five (5) years’ experience as a buyer
- Deep understanding of receiving and expediting processes
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
- At least 2 – 3 years’ experience in the FMCG/Manufacturing industry
- Technical buyer experience will be a definite added advantage
- CIPS qualification will be an added advantage
- Customer service orientated
- Strong team player
- Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Analytical thinker and demonstrate a good working knowledge of purchasing strategies and must be able to improve customer service with internal stakeholders
