DBN is recruiting a Collateral Officer (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
  • Reporting to the Senior Collateral Officer, the Collateral Officer is responsible to provide administrative assistance in drafting all Collateral documents, registering loan securities and guarantees, updating and maintaining Collateral documents and records effectively, paying legal fees and procuring revenue stamps, liaising effectively with relevant stakeholders and upholding the safekeeping of all securities of the Bank in order to minimize the risk to the Bank when loans are in default
Duties
  • Draft collateral documents, including Term Sheets, Loan Agreements and Addendums, Guarantees, Citation Reports, etc.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including clients, attorneys, banks, insurance companies and auditors, to address queries, to provide them with the relevant documentation for signature and to obtain relevant information and documentation from them
  • Administer the registration of loan securities and guarantees, in terms of preparation, activation and monitoring of its validity
  • Administer the process of releasing securities, including sending letters to sureties, cancelling cessions, handing-over of insurance policy contracts and title deeds to clients, updating the business system and filing the obsolete files
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation and information on vehicles financed by the Bank
  • Administer revenue stamps and maintain sound records thereof
  • Administer the process of paying legal fees, updating loan accounts and reporting on it
  • Maintain sound records of bonds, investments and insurance on the relevant registers and update the business system accordingly
  • Scan and file all collateral-related documentation and ensure the safekeeping of all securities held by the Bank
Requisites
  • Grade 12 and a relevant Diploma in Banking
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Credit and Collateral Administration environment
  • Sound understanding of credit applications and associated risk
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
