Namib Mills is recruiting a Technical Project Coordinator (m/f), to be based in Windhoek, Namibia.
Description
- Responsible for the project planning, technical contract discussions, project management, administrative management and feedback on projects as well as technical and administrative assistance to the Operations Manager
Duties
Project/Technical
- Gain sufficient knowledge of processes for which projects will be set up
- Assist with feasibility studies on technical projects
- Compile a detailed project plan with activity and resource planning
- Manage all parties within the project plan to ensure actions take place as per project plan
- Manage all costs within the project
- Liaise with relevant parties to ensure all costing, contractual and technical activities are completed as per plan
- Regular and detailed feedback and communication to Operations Manager and relevant parties
- Work with Various parties to manage the logistics surrounding projects
- Continuously monitor project performance against requirements
- Ensure that he/she is kept up to date with trends in the project management field
- Ensure that he/she is kept up to date with equipment/processes as per the need of the company
- Help to identify risks within a project and assist the relevant personnel to manage these risks
- Ability to work/assist with work during the installation and commissioning of equipment in a project
Contractual
- Assist the Operations Manager with the set and discussions on contracts
- Manage the control within Namibian or South African Legislation and Guidelines
- Keep up to date with contractual changes and legal obligations of the company within contracts
- Manage costing and control within the contract to ensure no scope or cost creep
Administration
- Excellent admin skills to manage projects and tasks diligently
- Work in a team to ensure the successful completion of projects
- Manage orders, deliveries and payments as per contractual obligations
- Ensure all actions within a project are completed as per plan
- Manage long-lead items and logistics surrounding the delivery of such items
- Assist with control of smaller projects and tasks within the Company to ensure
- Company efficiency
- Any ad-hoc tasks as required by the Operations Manager to ensure efficient operation of the department
Requisites
- B.SC in Quantity Surveying or similar degree OR
- Relevant Qualification in Project Management
- Minimum of 2 Years of relevant experience in technical project management.
- Contract Management and Experience in Gantt Charts for Project management is a prerequisite
- OTHER:
- MS Project Experience
- Computer literate
- Experience in a technical environment will be an added advantage
- Excellent Administrative Skills are required
- Technical skills and working with tools will be an added advantage
- Namibian citizen OR eligible to become a Namibian citizen
