Erongo Marine is recruiting a Fourth (4TH) Engineer (m/f), to be based in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Description
- The Fourth (4th) Engineer will be responsible for in maintaining a safe and effective engine watch and take part in maintenance and repairs on-board as designated by the Chief Engineer
- The incumbent will render support to the Chief, 2nd and 3rd Engineers enabling them to focus on all Engine activities on board the vessel, must be an excellent organizer and communicator with a proactive and collaborative attitude
- The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment
Duties
- Engine watch: To keep engine watch as designated by the Chief Engineer
- General duties: Assist with all vessel maintenance of the auxiliary & mechanical machinery in a safe and efficient manner
- Crew administration: Assist with all ship administrative duties including engineering department duties
Requisites
- Engineering Officer Class 5 (DMA approved)
- 2-3 years sea going experience as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on a fishing vessel
- Advanced Safety Certificates as required by the DMA
- Computer Literate - MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Experience on a Horse Mackerel midwater trawler – advantageous
