CGN is recruiting an Inspector: Quality Assurance & Quality Control (m/f), to be based in Swakopmund, Namibia.
Description
- To develop and determine applicable standards when performing inspections and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods and maintain high standards of quality for all processes
Duties
- Coordination with field contractors/subcontractors and Third Party NDT Inspection Company: Manages contractors and ensures that the End-user Department’s requirements or expectations are met
- Reviewing Inspection Reports, Testing methodologies and NDT Procedures: Elaborates and coordinates welding specifications and codes/standards; Liaises with field subcontractors and the Party NDT Inspection Company. Undertakes QA/QC support activities such as Visual Inspection, Pressure Testing and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on a range of plant equipment and mining machinery
- Auditing of approved Third Party NDT Inspection Company: Conducts audits on Third Party/NDT Inspection Companies
- Witnessing of Artisan code qualifications, testing and procedures: Coordinates Artisan training and coding and ensures the processing of certification
- Witness any remedial repairs: Identifies and reports equipment/machinery with chronic problems and recommends necessary actions
- Reporting: Develops QCP for each project and establishes hold points; Reviews all quality related summary reports and symbols as specified in drawings/sketches; Reviews technical reports
- Witnesses the hydrostatic and pressure test
- Advises the site subcontractors on quality and testing
- Monitors the issuing of materials and consumables
- Coordinate, monitor and track the issuing and close out of non-conformance reports: Monitors the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports; Prepares non-conformance reports to the Chief Coordinator and assists in developing corrective actions
- Reviews contractors and subcontractors’ Quality control plans
- Adheres to all laid down SSHER and Quality related standards, practices, policies, procedures, rules and regulations as well as statues
Requisites
- A Diploma in Quality and Assurance or equivalent OR a Recognized Trade Diploma/National Vocational
- Certificate in relevant field with N3 or NDT Level 2 ASNT or PCN
- N6/S3 will be added advantage with a Certificate in Quality Assurance and Control
- Certificate in Welding Inspector Level 2/1 will be an added advantage
- 5 Years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Control
- Experience in the Mining Industry will be an added advantage
- 3 years’ experience as welding Inspector or as Mechanical Technician
- Computer literate and knowledge in MS office, SAP procurement model
- Code BE Drivers’ License
